Local Rock Icons Help Restart Northwest Music Scene
 
 
Hot Rocks 3rdnd Annual Music Awards to be Held on April 1st (no fooling)
 
Hot Rocks, a locally based TV show, which films local bands to promote northwest talent to as many people and places as we can, is holding the 3rd Annual Hot Rocks Music Awards on Sunday, April 1st. Special guests at the Awards include Mindflow (from Brazil), Scott Rockenfield (drummer from Queensryche), Blue Thunder (of the Seattle Seahawks) and The Mothership. The event will be hosted by Rockfish.
 
“The idea behind the Awards show is to help kick-start the local ‘music machine’ that was once the birthplace for musicians such as Roger Fisher of Heart, Cobain and all of the rest,” says Tom Olsen, Executive Producer for Hot Rocks.
 
The Hot Rocks Music Awards will be aired live on SCAN, which is Comcast channel 77 and simulcast on www.hotrocks.tv . The event will be held this year at the Kirkland Performance Center.
 
Olsen and his crew created 14 award categories and selected nominees that will be judged by representatives of Hot Rocks’ sponsors. Examples of categories are: Best Drummer, Best Male Singer, Best Female Singer, Best Band People’s Choice Award (which can be voted on by going to www.hotrocks.tv , Best Live Performance and Best Synchronicity and Best Rock Club.
