February 13, 2009
Seattle—To help reignite the once famous Northwest music scene, a local television music show has recruited some local music heroes to participate in the 1st annual Hot Rocks Music Awards to be held Sunday March 15,2009 at the Triple Door. The headline acts include drummer Alan White from YES, Jimi Hendrix reincarnation Randy Hansen, and Heart lead guitarist Roger Fisher. The event will be hosted by Steve Rock from KISW FM 99.9
“All of the headliners have followed a local path to success," said Tom Olsen, creator of Hot Rocks, a music video show aired on SCAN TV (Comcast 77) in King County. "The idea behind the Awards show is to help kick-start the local ‘music machine’ that was once the birthplace for musicians such as Roger and Heart, Cobain and all of the rest."
The 2-hour event will be aired live on SCAN TV. Olsen and his crew created 13 award categories and selected nominees that will be judged by representatives of Hot Rock’s sponsors. Sponsors include Streamline Multi-Media, The Vocalist Studio, Synergy Productions, TC Helicon, Desteen Nation T-Shirts and Hidden Hand Tattoos. Some of the most high profile awards include Best Band Rock and Best Band Metal.
